Content Policy.
Last revised: September 1, 2025 · Docwell · docwellapp.com
Docwell hosts your documentation. You are responsible for your content; illegal content is removed per our policy. This page is that policy. It explains what may not be published on Docwell, how we learn about violations, and what happens when we find them. It applies to all content on customer knowledge bases, including text, images, files and linked material.
1. Prohibited content
The following are not permitted on Docwell, in any plan, in any language:
- Content that is illegal under applicable law, including fraud, identity theft and the distribution of malware.
- Child sexual abuse material, or any sexualization of minors — reported immediately to the relevant authorities.
- Incitement to violence, terrorism, or credible threats against people or groups.
- Content that infringes intellectual-property rights, including pirated works and counterfeit documentation.
- Phishing, deceptive impersonation, and pages designed to harvest credentials or payment data.
- Spam: bulk unsolicited content, link farms, and bases created solely to manipulate search rankings.
- Doxxing — publishing private personal data with intent to harass or harm.
2. Your responsibility
You are the curator of your collection. By publishing on Docwell you confirm that you hold the rights to your content and that it complies with this policy and with law. Team seats share that responsibility: the account owner answers for everything published under the account, including by invited members. Ignorance of what a teammate posted is not a defense, so choose your seats carefully.
3. Reporting and review
Anyone may report a violation through our contact page or by email. Reports are reviewed by a human, typically within two working days, faster for urgent categories such as CSAM or active threats. Where the law requires it — for example valid copyright takedown notices — we act on properly formed requests and notify the account owner unless legally barred from doing so.
4. Enforcement
Enforcement is proportionate. A first, minor violation usually brings a warning and removal of the specific content. Illegal content is removed promptly upon confirmation. Serious violations — CSAM, malware, phishing, credible threats — lead to immediate suspension. Repeated violations lead to account termination. When an account is terminated for cause, refunds are at our discretion and the 30-day guarantee does not apply to charges connected to the violation.
5. Appeals
If we remove content or suspend an account and you believe we got it wrong, reply to our notice with your explanation. A different reviewer re-examines the case and answers within five working days. Honest mistakes happen — including ours — and a clear, specific appeal is the fastest route to restoration.
6. Changes
We may refine this policy as threats and laws evolve. Material changes are announced by email to account owners at least 14 days before taking effect, except where immediate action is required by law or to protect safety.
