Cookie Policy.
Last revised: September 1, 2025 · Docwell · docwellapp.com
This policy lists every cookie and similar storage technology used on docwellapp.com, what each one does, and how long it stays. The short version: we keep a few cookies that make the site work, and one optional analytics jar that only opens if you say yes.
1. Strictly necessary
These are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off. They do not track you across the web.
- docwell_cart (local storage) — remembers the plans in your cart between pages. Kept until you clear it or check out.
- docwell_coupon (local storage) — stores an applied discount code such as CATALOG10. Kept until checkout or removal.
- docwell_cookie_consent (local storage) — records your Accept or Decline choice so the banner does not pester you again.
- Session cookie (customer accounts) — keeps curators signed in to the dashboard. Expires when you sign out or after 14 days.
2. Optional analytics
If — and only if — you press Accept on the cookie banner, we enable privacy-respecting analytics that count page views and referrers in aggregate. No cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, no fingerprinting. Pressing Decline means no analytics cookies are set at all, and the site works identically either way.
3. What we never use
Docwell sets no third-party advertising cookies, no social-media trackers, and no retargeting pixels. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which sees your browser's request for the font files like any static asset; no Google Analytics is present on this site.
4. Managing cookies
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site, which resets the banner and empties the cart. Every modern browser also lets you block or delete cookies entirely through its settings; blocking the strictly-necessary ones may prevent sign-in and checkout from working, for the simple reason that a museum cannot remember your ticket without one.
5. Local storage versus cookies
Some entries above live in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie jar. The practical difference is small: both sit on your device, both are readable only by this site, and both are erased when you clear site data. We list them together deliberately, because a visitor deserves one honest ledger of everything we write down — whatever the filing mechanism. None of these entries are visible to other websites, and none are transmitted to third parties beyond what is needed to serve the page you requested.
6. Changes
If we ever add a new category of cookies we will update this page and show the consent banner again before setting anything new. The “last revised” date at the top of this page always reflects the current list. Questions about any entry in this ledger can be sent through the contact page; we answer cookie questions with the same care as billing ones.
